February Social Success

At EFF we are extremely pleased to report this months event to be a huge success. Despite the torrential downpour, you turned up in record numbers for enthralling discussions, a captivating speech from Junky and not to mention an EFF cupcake or two. With this is mind, Kurt from Junky and the Ethical Fashion Forum addressed: *Ethical Fashion and Retail: What's selling and why? What are consumers looking for? How interested are they in the ethics behind what they buy?* Kurt provided insightful information as to history and the successful growth of the brand. This generated great interest from attendees and a vibrant discussion followed covering all aspects of the sustainable field. This month we documented the event and the photos can be found on the network and on our Facebook group.

This year we have introduced themes to our monthly socials. January's social 'Culture & Creativity: Making Fair Trade Cutting Edge' proved our most successful yet! Attended by a Corporate Responsibility Manager of a top high street fashion brand, a DEFRA Policy Advisor, a Senior Research Fellow from a top fashion university, ethical and sustainable fashion designers working in Colombia, Equador, Pakistan, and England, a ethical jeweller, a supplier of Natural Colour Cotton, students, and of course members from the EFF Team. Network Review: January 2010

Through our Network we link with over 2500 members and through our newsletter we connect with 3 times as many subscribers in 73 countries. The network has a growing international membership with 45% of our members subscribing from outside the UK, demonstrating the Ethical Fashion Forum as the sustainable fashion network for the global community. An exciting 88% of network members are a part of the global fashion and textiles industry; including 1057 designers, 253 buyers, 239 suppliers, 304 manufacturers and 321 retailers all who are interested or involved in sustainable fashion.
