Fairtrade Foundation

The Fairtrade Foundation is the independent non-profit organisation that licenses use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on cotton products in the UK in accordance with internationally agreed Fairtrade standards.

Fairtrade provides a lifeline to cotton farmers ensuring that they are paid a guaranteed minimum price for their crop. They also receive additional money to invest in community projects – the Fairtrade premium – and it is for the farmer organisations to decide how they invest it, depending on what they need most – a school, health centre, equipment or a well.

Fairtrade Foundation invites their members to exhibit at the Global Sourcing Marketplace. Fairtrade Foundation will be available to answer visitor’s questions from their stand, and will present a seminar.

TED’s dedication to supporting new artists and designers, and understanding of the importance of environmental and social issues, means that the project is an important partner for the Global Sourcing Marketplace.
