Estethica
February 2008 was the fourth season of estethica, London Fashion Weeks sustainable fashion initiative.
Estethica is a testament to directional tailoring and sustainable design with a consideration for production, material, disposal and human resources.
Ethical Pure
New in February 2009, Pure London launched an additional edited section Ethical Pure.
Ethical Pure launched in response to demand from buyers for more fashion with a conscience. It is a growing area of interest amongst Pure London’s existing visitor base with research showing that those retailers already stocking ethical brands has risen from 11% to 15%* and 10%* of visitors plan to stock more ethical brands.
Fairtrade Foundation
The Fairtrade Foundation has teamed up with the Ethical Fashion Forum to launch its major sustainable design competition, INNOVATION Award. For the first time the competition will run a Fairtrade cotton category sponsored by Tesco, which will be judged by fashion model Laura Bailey.
