Key products/services

Initiating and supporting projects which contribute to minimising the environmental impact of industry and society.

Profile

The Sustainable Angle (TSA) is a not for profit organisation putting together the yearly future fabrics expo. All projects contribute to minimizing the environmental impact of industry, and help make it easier for companies to make informed decisions when it comes to sustainability and textiles. In addition, TSA provides tailored workshops for brands wishing to source and produce more sustainably.

The Future Fabrics Expo focuses on how the fashion industry’s environmental impact can be lowered through innovation in the textile industry, presenting novel ideas to transform the fashion system and design practice.

The Future Fabrics Virtual Expo is an online tool to make the expo content available any time, from anywhere: www.futurefabricsvirtualexpo.com

TSA have been successful in contributing to changing the outdated image of sustainable materials, building up an expanding resource of individually assessed fabrics which are suitable for luxury, mainstream and niche brands, sourced from mills with a commitment to improved business practices.

Ethical Focus & Policy

In order to demonstrate that responsible fashion design goes beyond using sustainable fabrics, TSA workshops and expos showcase lower environmental impact fabrics, but also explore a wider framework, looking beyond materials to other stages of the clothing supply chain.

To ascertain environmental/social impact, each fabric and mill is assessed individually against the environmental criteria of biodiversity, water, waste and energy, as well as rewarding ethical production, fully environmentally / ethically certified supply chains, and local sourcing / production.

TSA has been able to help global companies reduce their negative environmental and social impact by sourcing more sustainable fabrics, and adopting more socially and environmentally sustainable business practices.

Each year TSA expands their research and focus to look at social and environmental impact of additional stages of the fashion supply chain, including wide ranging global sustainable fibres, textiles and processes, sharing information about provenance and processing, as well as production methods and design practices.
