Hand made clothing
Oriendesign is a small cottage industry based in North London. The designer Samantha Comelli studied at London College of Fashion and was assisting tailor at Savile Row.
Oriendesign clothes are hand made from naturally dyed fabric. The collection is crafted with simple linear shapes and concepts using natural forms; the garments are softly tailored and designed for a lean look made of 100% hemp and wool mix using recycled and new fabrics.
Oriendesign also make some repair on old clothes.
Ethical Focus & Policy
Oriendesign is interested in working with recycled fabrics and hemp, transforming old unused sustainable fabrics in different natural colours, textures and shapes. Following the Slow Fashion concept, Oriendesign revives them and provides them new forms.
Oriendesign uses 100% organic hemp or wool and eco electricity to sew its clothes. Oriendesign products also adopt individually tailored colour with regional techniques.
Fabrics are sourced from indigenous communities with environmental projects such as the Ladakh farm project NGO in North India, while the hemp is sourced from Germany.
Personal clients commission work.
