Ethical Focus & Policy
Nataasha Dubliish graduated from Parsons School of Design , New York . Along with that, she has traveled extensively all throughout her home country of India. Here, she had the opportunity to meet and work with weaver communities and dyers in villages such as Kanchipuram, Bagru Rajasthan and Benaras known for mud dying and handloom weaves.
She strives to revive the old dying crafts of India by incorporating them into her own contemporary designs . To do this she has incorporated a lot of hand loom fabrics into her fashion designs such as Chanderi and Ahimsa Silk ( peace Silk ) in her collections . She hopes she will be able to uplift traditional crafts from India to an international level.
To achieve this, Nat Non have incorporated several artisan communities in India, regardless of gender. Nataasha strongly feels there is a lot of talent in India but women especially in artisan communities do not get enough pay or share to grow.
Nat Non actively involve women embroideries and artisans in their work , giving them equal wages and security. To ensure transparency they have everything In house with grade A production facilities and a safe environment to all the workers . There are currently 25 workers in the unit out of which 15 are women. Nataasha plans to increase this number in the coming years .
The end goal is to change lives of artisans in India, employing artisan communities all through the country, not only reviving dying art but also giving the artisans a hope and security to continue this through future generations.
