Key products/services

The first fashion company in the world to be recognised by the United Nations for its sustainability.

The Untouched World lifestyle brand was born out of a desire to create a vehicle for change through fashion. Untouched World focuses on creating clever designs that will stand the test of time.

Renowned for the exquisite knitwear and Mountainsilk™ fine machine washable Merino, Untouched World is worn by celebrities and royalty such as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Joanna Lumley and Prince Harry.

Most of the product is made in New Zealand, and the few things that are made offshore are done with manufacturers and suppliers that share the company’s values and ethics.

Untouched World’s philosophy can be summarised by its logo: a symbol representing a Maori Kite, and an emblem of an ideal relationship between man and nature. It is the outcome of an art involving natural materials and human skills; it links the earth to the sky, and symbolises a soaring freedom of the spirit.

Ethical Focus & Policy

Sustainability lies at the heart of the Untouched World brand and runs through the veins of its business.

From paper selection, fabric and fibre sourcing, to energy consumption and waste reduction, right through to composting lunch scraps in the bokashi bucket. For Untouched World, sustainability is a mentality, a lifestyle, a consciousness that the team takes seriously.

In creating Untouched World collections, the full lifecycle of products are considered: from the design process, through to production and the durability of the product, to recycling, upcycling or composting a garment at the end of its life.

A percentage of profits from sales of Untouched World products fund the Untouched World Charitable Trust which runs Leadership for Sustainable Development Programmes for young people. For this reason, the United Nations recognised Untouched World for its commitment. Also, the UNESCO Global Action Plan recognises Untouched World as one of three global exemplars for empowering and mobilising youth.
