Eco-friendly and colourful women’s clothing.
Passion Lilie began with a desire to change the fashion industry, so that ethical fashion is affordable and accessible for everyone.
Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, Passion Lilie has been able to support approximately 100 artisans across India with a fair wage and a positive working environment. They are passionate about using traditional Indian techniques such as hand block printing, hand weaving and ikat dyeing in order to create colorful dresses, skirts, blouses, pants and scarves.
Their products are for those looking for a unique, yet affordable garment produced in an ethical and sustainable manner. The designer of Passion Lilie is inspired by the classic silhouettes of the 40s-60s, which she believes when used appropriately can flatter any body shape and any age.

Ethical Focus & Policy
Passion Lilie is dedicated to working with a women’s sewing cooperative in Bangalore that is certified by the World Fair Trade Organization and the fabric printing and weaving is done by a few different artisan groups in Andhra Pradeh and Rajasthan.
Passion Lilie visits every artisan groups and has done extensive interviews with them to ensure that they are meeting their standards for fair trade: a sustainable and appropriate salary, job security, loans and financial assistance, health care, on the job free training, no child labor, safe working conditions, protection of the environment through water reduction, recycling and using only natural or Azo free dyes. These artisans have been able to overcome financial hardships through employment with the producer groups that Passion Lilie works with.
Passion Lilie has supported about 100 different artisans through fair wages from farmers, weavers, fabric designers, block printers and tailors. Passion Lilie has been working with a small sewing group of about 10 women in Bangalore for almost two years. This summer Passion Lilie visited the producer group to discuss future production as the brand is planning on tripling production for Spring 2015. The producer group has also been gaining new clients of their own. Realisng that they are now at capacity, the producers were happy to hear about Passion Lilie’s plans to expand, because it gave them the financial incentive they needed to acquire a new workspace. Early next year they will start running a training program for five women from the local community who are in desperate need of a job.
Passion Lilie’s goal is to double the amount of artisans they can positively affect with a fair wage every year. Passion Lilie is only in its second year of business, but by year three their goal is to be financially sustainable and able to donate 10% of profits every year towards partnering with outside organisations that provide education for young women and medical care for communities who are most in need. Within the next 2-3 years, they also plan to have a locally made line that empowers and employs the large number of financially struggling individuals in New Orleans and the Southern United States.
In addition, their local office is fully environmentally sustainable adopting methods such as recycling, limiting use of transportation and electricity.
