Ethical Fashion SOURCE Expo Design Competition – Bag and T-shirt

DEADLINE FOR DESIGN ENTRIES IS THE 26th AUGUST

About the Event
SOURCE Expo, the only fashion industry trade show dedicated to sustainable sourcing, is taking place the 17th and 18th of October at Sadler’s Wells, London E1. It brings together international manufacturers, suppliers and cooperatives working to high ethical standards. SOURCE Expo is visited by hundreds of fashion industry professional, such as representatives of businesses of all sizes, designers, entrepreneurs and students.

Design Brief
We are looking for an A4 design that will be printed on over 1000 cotton bags, handed to all visitors to the SOURCE Expo. The same design will also be printed on the T-shirts worn by all Expo staff.

The Design should reflect the goal of the event:
SOURCE Expo aims to promote sustainable fashion practices, and facilitate sustainable sourcing amongst fashion professionals. The event aims to create a platform and opportunities for suppliers with exemplary practices. Ultimately, its goal is to reduce the environmental impact of the industry, support fair and equitable trade, and reduce poverty.

We are looking for a professional and high quality design the creatively reflects the SOURCE Expo. Be dynamic with typography, print and image. Remember, often less is more!

Please also consider that the artwork will be screen printed, allowing for a limited use of different colours ( 1 or 2 colours per design is ideal)

Benefits
The winners name and website will be featured on the bags and T-shirts, as well as on the cover of the events brochure, handed out to all visitors to the event. This offers a great opportunity to showcase your artwork to a large number of industry professionals and to be linked to such a prestigious event.

Electronic Artwork Specification
Create your artwork using packages listed below and save all documents as PDF, TIFF, JPEG or EPS.
Mac packages: Adobe Photoshop; Illustrator; InDesign; Quark Xpress; Macromedia Freehand
PC packages: Adobe Photoshop; Illustrator; Corel Draw; Quark Xpress; Macromedia Freehand

Your Checklist
Ensure that your artwork is to size:
• A4 (29 × 20cm)
• Don’t include anything on your files that you don’t wish to appear on the final print.•
• Recommended minimum size for type is 12 point and 14 point if reversed out (Screen Print) We can’t print True-type (PC) fonts. Convert all text to outlines/curves/paths or email the font to be used togeth¬er with your artwork.
• Attach the original artwork file (as a PDF/TIFF, JPEG or EPS) to an email together with colour separa¬tion files. Maximum file attachment size is 6MB (per email not file!)
• Indicate print position; colour references – use Pantone Coated.
• Your Eco-Bag will only print as good as the artwork provided. We do a very basic check for you (size, quality and colour) but it is the customer’s responsibility to supply good quality artwork. We do email an Artwork Approval Form for you to sign off prior to printing – please check this and give confirmation so as not to delay your order.
Make sure the Sponsor’s logos are incorporated in the design. Please download the Continental Clothing Logo , Manits World logo and T-Shirt and Sons

Colour Management
We use a Pantone referenced colour management system. Please note that colours on screen monitors and ink jet print outs will appear differently from Pantone reference charts.
