Definitions: The use of sustainable and ethical in this context can be defined as socially and environmentally responsible
1. SUPPORT, facilitation & promotion of sustainable practices
The EFF seeks to support and facilitate sustainable practices in the fashion industry through network building, networking and promotional projects
and events, seminars, training, provision of information, resources, advice and support.
2. EDUCATION and awareness raising
The EFF seeks to engage with schools, fashion institutions, the fashion industry and the general public to raise awareness and inform about sustainability in relation to fashion.
3. POVERTY: Poverty reduction and fair trade
The EFF seeks to reduce poverty and encourage fair and equitable trade through linking values led supply systems to market , training and
awareness raising, providing information on ethical sourcing practices and opportunities, and capacity building and skills training.
4. ENVIRONMENT: Reduction of the environmental footprint of the fashion industry
The EFF seeks to reduce the environmental footprint of the fashion industry through research, publications and reports, training and awareness raising, and information provision.
5. STANDARDS: Supporting sustainable standards, regulations, and labelling initiatives
The EFF seeks to:
• Encourage, support and promote labelling and certification systems in relation to sustainability in the fashion industry
• Work with other organisations to encourage and develop legislation and regulations to outlaw exploitative practices in the fashion industry.
