Sustainable fashion and everyday clothing. Made ethically in the UK out of natural and organic certified materials.

Zola Amour is a sustainable fashion company based in Brighton, UK.

Founded by Emily Evans, age 27, who has spent years working internationally as a designer for Merchant 1948, Mimco and Jimmy Choo, Emily was disturbed and horrified by the devastating effects of mass-production and the impact it is having on our planet.

During her time spent in industry something began to gnaw away internally and after leaving Jimmy Choo in 2015, Zola Amour was conceived, and then brought to life with a soft launch in June 2017.

Our aim with Zola is to change the impact fashion has on our environment and to minimise its effect on climate change. Zola believe’s that this is 100% possible by choosing natural fair-trade and organic certified materials, as well as producing carefully considered designs, that have been created with longevity in mind.

Ethical Focus & Policy

When designing, Zola carefully consider each item in terms of longevity and multiple uses. They think about whether it’s able to be dressed up or dressed down; whether it’s able to be worn in multiple situaitons or circumstances. To the gym or to the office, and in terms of styling, whether the item will date quickly or if the style is classic enough to remain current of a number of years.

Zola select the finest quality organically certified materials, such as GOTS (global organic textile standard) certified organic cottons and OEKO-TEX certified bamboo. They use natural and recycled components and GOTS organic cotton thread to stitch each item as well as natural or recycled buttons and zips.

Zola decided to make the first collection purposefully monochrome with shades of black, white, grey and a little bit of traditional denim. Colour can date very quickly and can be a key factor in clothing becoming redundant.

Everything is hand-made in the company’s Brighton premises. Keeping a low carbon footprint and paying staff a living wage are also high on the agenda for Zola Amour, guaranteeing that each item of clothing is made ethically and fairly, as well as to the highest standard.
